* Job opportunities
* Salary and benefits
* Evaluations
Qualifying for Co-op Co-op is
a program
available to undergraduate students in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Qualifications for admission
include at the minimum sophomore rank, good-standing status at the University and a GPA that reflects satisfactory
academic progress.
Schedule Requirements Co-op students are required
to work full time for a semester and a summer. Most students choose to work a summer and a semester
consecutively. Students have the option of extending their "real world" experience by working additional terms.
University status during a Co-op Students
maintain full-time status with the University during each Co-op experience. Students should
contact the Co-op staff in the Engineering Career Services office for details.
Role of the Co-op staff The Co-op staff assists
students in finding Co-op positions. Getting the job requires the cooperation of all interested parties: the
companies, the Co-op office, and most importantly, the student. To obtain the best-matched Co-op, students
should, early in their academic careers, become acquainted with the Co-op staff to express their interests,
objectives, and abilities.
Job opportunities Co-op jobs can be developed in industry,
government and public service in the metropolitan St. Louis area as well as throughout the United States.
Salary and Benefits Salary and benefits are negotiated
between the student and the employer, although the Co-op staff does ask an employer to pay a fair wage for a
student's time and labor.
Evaluations Employer and student evaluations are
completed at the end of each work assignment.
